Korean denim has moved through plenty of silhouettes, but current Musinsa sales data points to one shape standing out this autumn: curved denim.

What is a curved fit?
Curved jeans generally create more volume through the thigh and leg before narrowing again toward the hem.
The effect is less rigid than a traditional straight jean and more sculptural than a standard wide-leg shape.
You may also see similar silhouettes described as barrel, balloon or curved-leg denim.
What are Koreans actually buying?
Musinsa looked at denim sales from September 1 to September 7, 2026, and the pattern was unusually clear.
Among the top 12 denim products, seven explicitly included “curved” in the product name. When barrel-fit products were included, eight of the top 12 had a curved silhouette.
The No. 1 product in that ranking was Texx’s TX304 curved baggy balloon denim.
That does not mean every Korean shopper has suddenly abandoned wide-leg jeans.
But when two-thirds of the leading products in a sales ranking share a similar silhouette, it is a useful signal that the shape has moved beyond a niche styling idea.
Why now?
Autumn naturally brings more attention back to denim after Korea’s hot summer months.
But the popularity of curved fits also fits a broader shift toward silhouettes with more shape and volume.
Musinsa’s other early-September rankings show workwear, looser trousers and practical outerwear becoming more prominent as the season changes.
The result is an autumn wardrobe that feels less polished and fitted, and more deliberately structured.
What should you look for?
If you want to try the shape, pay attention to where the curve begins.
Some jeans create dramatic volume around the thigh before tapering sharply. Others are much closer to a relaxed straight leg.
That difference can completely change how wearable the silhouette feels.
